About the role

Are you a senior lawyer who values autonomy and flexibility? Do you hate jargon, and value service delivery above traditional practices?

Attune Legal have an amazing and rare opportunity for an energetic, experienced Commercial Lawyer with big self-starting energy and a collaborative style to work alongside and support Principal Yule Guttenbeil on a part time basis, 3 days per week. 

This is a role where you will be given full ownership, autonomy, and trust to do what you do best, with full support from the Principal, however there is scope for lots of learning and development as the company grows.  

What will you do?

  • Manage a variety of client matters such as general contract negotiation (mainly software development/ service contracts), employment and compliance advice in the areas of competition and fair trading. 
  • Maintain documentation (precedents, matter management etc.) and work with Attune Legal’s innovative practice management systems.
  • Expand your expertise into electricity retail law while working closely with external compliance consultants;
  • Have the capacity to manage the delivery expectations of clients and internal partners.


Requirements

  • Post-qualified experience as a commercial, in-house counsel or technology lawyer;
  • Sound understanding of Intellectual Property Law, Australian Consumer and Competition Law, Privacy Law;
  • You’ll be adept at the autonomous management of client enquires from go to woah (with some oversight from the Principal);
  • Superior drafting skills and broad experience with a variety of commercial agreements and documentation;
  • The ability to negotiate contracts;
  • Work efficiently and at pace;
  • The capacity to manage the delivery expectations of clients and internal partners.
