Description

Mission

Free Arts NYC empowers youth from underserved communities through art and mentoring programs to develop their creativity, confidence, and skills to succeed. Since 1998, Free Arts NYC has strived to level the playing field by providing high-quality arts and mentorship programs to youth who do not have access to them. It is one of the only youth organizations in NYC that combines 1:1 mentoring and intensive art programming. Free Arts NYC partners with public schools, community centers, and transitional housing sites throughout the city. Through employee engagement events and intensive mentorship programs, our youth learn the skills necessary to succeed in academic, professional, and daily-life situations. www.freeartsnyc.org

A staff of 14 (FT and PT) runs programming for over 2,000 youth with a 2 million+ dollar budget. Funds are raised through corporate engagement opportunities, foundation grants, individual giving campaigns, unique partnerships and an Annual Art Auction honoring major figures in the contemporary art world including: KAWS, Julia Chiang, Eddie Martinez, Sam Moyer, Lawrence Weiner among others.

Job Summary 

The Corporate Development Manager is responsible for soliciting, cultivating and maintaining Free Arts NYC’s corporate partnerships. The individual in this role will maximize the engagement of 75+ companies through fundraising, programming, event sponsorship and employee engagement and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This includes tracking and synthesizing corporate data, as well as booking and executing virtual and in-person volunteer team building events for corporate partners. The Corporate Development Manager sits on the Development Team, and works closely with the Program Team, specifically the Free Arts Day Manager. The position currently reports to the Executive Director until a Development Director is in place.

Responsibilities Include:

Corporate Engagement & Programming

  • Meet annual sponsorship revenue goal of $600,000+
  • Develop multilateral engagement for corporate partners:
    • Execute and facilitate in-person and virtual CSR events
    • Work with TAP Manager to secure financial support from, and identify corporations for, Internship placements 
  • Work closely with the Development Team to ideate and execute fundraising initiatives, CSR campaigns and events with a focus on corporate engagement and sponsorship opportunities
  • Create pitches and proposals for new and existing corporate partners
  • Spearhead the creation and fulfillment of customized partnership activation plans for each corporate partner
  • Identify new sources of corporate funding, design creative strategies to secure new sponsors and grow relationships
  • Produce annual breakfast for corporate partners 
  • Negotiate corporate sponsorship agreements to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Evaluate and modify programs based on partner agency and corporation’s needs
  • Communicate with sponsors leading up to and post event
  • Manage facilitators as needed, for employee engagement events 

Tracking Funds & Data

  • Manage budget and report data to Executive Director 
  • Manage corporate invoice process and reconciliation with Part Time Finance Manager
  • Regularly review and scrub Salesforce records, including adding pertinent notes and attaching key files
  • Monitor incoming corporate donations and follow up with any donors with transactions, as needed
  • Send acknowledgement letters

Physical Demands: The day-to-day operations of this role require the use of a MacBook Pro, the ability to appear and participate in video conferences. This role requires the employee to report to the office or, occasionally, an event location and sit, walk and stand as well as use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment and lift up to 50lbs.

In addition, we prefer candidates to have:

  • 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with Google Suite, Powerpoint, Zoom, and other web platforms
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
